About Dooflist

Dooflist is the complete, correct list of Auckland dance gigs, and a calendar feed you subscribe to once. Club nights, raves, DJ sets and live electronic shows across Tāmaki Makaurau, gathered from the places that sell the tickets, checked for duplicates and genre, and put in one place. It is free, has no accounts, and makes no money.

Where the gigs come from

Every gig is read from a public listing and links back to the seller. Dooflist never sells tickets and never sits between you and the box office. Today it reads:

• Resident Advisor: their public Auckland listings.
• Under The Radar: the calendar feed they publish.
• Ticketmaster: their Discovery API, under a key issued to us.
• Moshtix: their public listings API.
• Flicket: the public storefronts of Auckland venues and promoters.
• Humanitix: their public Auckland listings.
• Eventbrite: their public Auckland listings.
• Gather: their public Auckland listings.
• BeatBoard: their public listings, a fellow Auckland list.
• Promoters and venues directly: the List a gig form, each one checked by a person.

When the same gig is on more than one of these, it appears once, and the ticket link goes to one seller. Every gig page says which listing it came from.

Posters, blurbs and names

The poster, the description and the line-up on a gig page belong to the promoter, the venue or the artists, and are shown from the original listing so that people can find the gig. Dooflist does not store poster files: it points at the seller’s copy, and the share cards it makes say so. If you own any of it and would rather it were not here, or a detail is wrong, say so and it comes down or gets fixed.

The map

The robot

Dooflist reads its sources with a program that identifies itself as DooflistBot in every request, with a link back to its own source code, and keeps a polite pace. If you run one of the sites above and would prefer it read you differently, or not at all, [email protected] reaches a person.

The feed

The whole list is a calendar subscription at dooflist.com/auckland.ics. That address will not change. Add it once and every new gig, and every correction, arrives in your calendar on its own.
