Her practice oscillates temporality\, presumption s of sentience\, subversion\, rhythm\, gesture\, frequencies\, the ourobor ic\, the orogenous\, the peripatetic\, love and the polyglottic. She lives littorally in rural Port Greville\, Mi’kma’ki/Nova Scotia\, Canada am idst crows\, coyotes\, grackles\, bees\, humpback\, lichen and fox. Coco h as been making things for many years. She has collaborated as a recording and performing artist with musician Will Kidman\, and for bands including Status/Non-Status and Julie Doiron. She’s also played with Jon McKiel\, Carson McHone\, The Burning Hell\, Penny and The Pits\, Construction & Des truction\, and others. Coco’s diverse practise extends to libretti and c onceptual visual art\, and she has co-created with composer Katharine Petk ovski\, visual artists Sheilah and Dani ReStack\, Claire Greenshaw\, and R ita McKeogh\; poet Luke Hathaway\, musician Zoon\, and others. Her work ha s been shown in galleries across Turtle Island (Can & US)\, the UK\, Eire \, and in Australia & NZ/Aotearoa. TRIO is billed as the “interspecies trio” — a collection of music grown from the interaction of drums\, m odular synthesis\, and plant-triggered biosignals. It stands as a companio n to vma’s 2025 release\, GUEST\, which invited a rotating cast of colla borators — including Ruby Solly\, David Long\, and Mo H. Zareei — to a dd their voices to the project’s living sonic ecology. Where GUEST opene d the circle outward\, TRIO pulls the focus back to the project’s origin al three-way interaction between human\, machine\, and organism\, completi ng the pair of bookends vma first envisioned for its 2024 Sonic Artist Res idency.
